B. Text of Launch Announcements.
1992-080A COSMOS 2221, a C.I.S. spacecraft, was launched. Inititial orbital
parameters are: period 97.8 min, apogee 678 km, perigee 653 km, and
inclination 82.5 deg.
1992-079A USA 85, a U.S.A. GPS spacecraft, was launched. Initial orbital
parameters are: period 681.4 min, apogee 20251 km, perigee 18341,
and inclination 53.5 deg.
1992-078A MSTI, a U.S.A. spacecraft, was launched. Initial orbital parameters
are: period 92.2 min, apogee 446 km, perigee 341 km, and inclination
96.7 km.
1992-077A COSMOS 2220, a C.I.S.spacecraft, was launched by a Soyuz rocket from
Plesetsk cosmodrome.Initial orbital parameters are: period 89.6 min,
apogee 368 km, perigee 178 km, and inclination 67.2 deg.
1992-076A COSMOS 2219, a C.I.S.spacecraft, was launched by a ZENIT rocket from
Baykonur cosmodrome. Initial orbital parameters are: period 102 min,
apogee 881 km, perigee 852 km, and inclination 71 deg.
1992-075A RESURS 500, a C.I.S.spacecraft,was launched from Plesetsk cosmodrome.
It carried a descent module containing greetings,etc.,to the American
people on the 500th anniversary of Columbus's landing,and was to soft-
land west of Seattle (WA) and be retrieved.Initial orbital parameters
are:period 90.3 min, apogee 362 km, perigee 224 km, and inclination
82.5 deg.
1992-074A EKRAN 20, a C.I.S. geostationary communucations spacecraft, was
launched by a Proton rocket from Baykonur cosmodrome. It was put in
the final circular orbit of distance 35,618 km, period 23 hr, 48
min, and inclination 1.4 deg.
1992-073A COSMOS 2218, a C.I.S spacecraft, was launched by a COSMOS rocket
from Plesetsk cosmodrome. Initial orbital parameters are: period
105 min, apogee 1,028 km, perigee 989 km, and inclination 82.9 deg.
1992-072A GALAXY 7, a U.S.A. geostationary communications spacecraft, was
launched by an Arianne rocket from Kourou in French Guiana. Initial
transfer orbital parameters are: period 478.3 min, apogee 27739 km,
perigee 134 km, and inclination of 6.9 deg.
1992-071A PROGRESS M-15, a C.I.S. automatic cargo craft, was launched by a
Soyuz rocket to send supplies to the MIR station. Initial orbital
parameters are: period 88.5 min, apogee 233 km, perigee 194 km, and
inclination 51.6 deg.
1992-070C CTA (Canadian Target Assembly), a Canadian spacecraft, was released
from STS 52. Initial orbital parameters are: period 88.4 min, apogee
243 km, perigee 164 km, and inclination 28.4 deg.
*1986-017GX NAK 2, a C.I.S. spacecraft, was released from the MIR spacestation
which was launched February 19, 1986. Initial orbital parameters
are: period 92.3 min, apogee 410 km, perigee 391 km, and
inclination 51.6 deg.
